World Press Photo Yearbook 2025

In recognition of this, the independent non-profitorganization World Press Photo Foundation, basedin Amsterdam, has been presenting the World PressPhoto Award for the best photo, the best story, the bestlongterm project of the year for more than six decades.The winning images in the various categories tell boldstories and provide invaluable insights into the state ofour world. The award-winning photos will be announcedat the same time as the book launch and presented in atraveling exhibition. So it is and remains extremely excitingto see which works will be selected from thousandsof submissions-and of course which photo will be theactual cover illustration! Furthermore, 2025 marks the70th anniversary of the foundation. This will be celebratedin the book by presenting many well-know historicalwinning photos.
