A Grammar of Central Alaskan Yupik (CAY)
Grammar of Central Alaskan Yupik (CAY)

Beschreibung
The volume is a major grammar of Central Alaskan Yupik (CAY). It is the culmination of nearly 50 years of work by the author, who has steadily been one of the most creative contributors to scientific knowledge of the language. Central Alaskan Yupik is currently the most vigorous of the nineteen remaining Native Alaskan languages. Though seriously endangered, CAY has by far the largest number of speakers in Alaska and is the language most likely to have any hope of survival beyond the 21st century, perhaps not only in Alaska but also all the indigenous languages of the United States.
