Behavior of Pipe Piles in Sand

This book consists of mainly five parts. First, the subject is introduced along with previous research and fundamentals of imaging in chapters one to four. Second, investigations of geotechnical properties of transparent synthetic soils are pre-sented in chapter five to seven. Third, the Image processing algorithm, digital im-age cross-correlation, and its advanced form, adaptive cross-correlation, are pre-sented and validated in chapters eight to ten. Fourth, three-dimensional deformation under a model footing is presented in chapter eleven. Fifth, two di-mensional flow tests are presented in chapter twelve. Finally, a postscript contain-ing the author s reflections is presented at the end. An appendix dealing with camera calibration is also included.
