Geospatial Analysis of Environmental Health

The book focuses on a range of geotechnical applications for environmental health research, including a focus on environmental justice issues and environmental health disparities. Environmental health research is at an exciting point in its use of geotechnologies, and there are many researchers working on innovative approaches. These studies have not been compiled into one volume, and there is no current book on the topic of environmental health and GIS. Therefore, this book is very timely and allow for an important scholarly contribution in updating the state-of-the-art of using GIS and other geospatial methods for health research.
The volume provides an overview of the major issues in the field of Environmental Health Spatial Sciences today. Each chapter contains original research which utilizes a geotechnical tool (Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, GPS, etc.) to address an environmental health, environmental justice, or health disparities problem. Each of the 8 sections contains several chapters focusing on the overall section theme. The authors are leading researchers and practitioners in the field of environmental health spatial sciences.
