 WELCOME !
The Directory Council of the Romanian Society for the History of Pharmacy (RSHP) and the Organising Comittee warmly salutes Your presence at this Colloquim and adresses you A friendly salute ! and Welcome! 12 years passed from the first International  Colloquim for the History of Pharmacy organised by the Transilvania Museum, University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Cluj –Napoca and the special contribution of Madame Dr. Eva Crisan, Director of the collection for the history of pharmacy in this town,  with the collaboration of RSHP.We considered that we fullfilled a task and also a duty, left by testament by the perpetual secretary of RSHP, lecturer Col. Constantin Iugulescu  PhD. (1924 - 2006), of organising the 3-rd Colloquim, after 6 years from the second one, organised by our society at    October 18-th 2002 at Bucharest, at National Pharmacy Congress.

The themes of the Colloquim, announced a year back, in September 2007, are of large interest for researchers in the history of pharmacy from all meridians of the globe. The first theme, Tradition and modernity in medicinal plants putting to good use, even if studied and permanently presented at scientific pharmacy manifestations and also at history of medicine manifestations will be found between themes of many congresses, conferences colloquims and symposiums. It is known by reserchers of medicine plants that plants were the first source of medicines, from the empirical period. It is interesting that today, this domain takes a pretty important place in therapeutics, with the chimical and biological medicines. The second theme, International pharmaceutical relations, represents a study object for Romanian pharmacohistorians and is appreciated at the management of International Society for the History of Pharmacy (IGGP – Internazionale Gesellschaft fur Geschichte der Pharmazie). At the RSHP’s perpetual secretary initiative, our society published in 2004 a small volume (146 A5 pages), with all the full papers presented at the second colloquim in 2002. We hope that the theme will be well represented in the colloquim programme and we will publish a second volume on this theme. In order to give all reserchers an opportunity to present papers at the colloquim we submitted between themes Vary.
On behalf of the Directiry Council of the Organising Committtee and of the Pharmaceutical Comunity in Romania, I adress to you once more Welcome! May you have a wonderful autumn! and May you have a productive stay in Romania!

RSHP Presidente,   Prof.Dr. Ana Carata
